I am a student studying in a Hong Kong university with CS major🖥️ (semi-local). This is my opportunity to test HK local network resources like WiFi🛜 and Residential IPs.

Why Interested in These Topics?

You probably noticed these problems⚠️ on the Internet:

  • Server Down - website or app not functioning (Network🛜 Error) for several hours worldwide!
  • “VPN or Proxy Detected” website error message (HOW are they detected?)
  • “This Website is Under Maintenance🚧 - Try Again Later”
  • Accounts banned🚫 (e.g., Facebook, PayPal) immediately after registration (for Mainland users - IP address problem!)
  • Very slow🐢 when using Mainland apps (like WeChat) under my university WiFi🛜
  • and so on ...

So, Why is This?

Like scientists and researchers🧪, it’s my very strong interest and passion to find out WHY behind based on my observations🔍 and experiments🔬 (like in a laboratory🧪).

Every time I get results📋 for each experiment, whether it fails or not, I am always very happy😆. This is one of my unique personality.

Uniqueness of Kensear

Comparing to some other tech blogs, channels, etc., Kensear:

  • can test HK local network resources (like WiFi🛜 and Residential IPs) with experiments, as a local university student;
  • can self-develop programs (including one-click installation and setup scripts for lazy users), as a developer;
  • can prove and/or disprove each result by a set of experiments🔬 (wherever possible);
  • (etc.)

But, of course, other blogs and channels are still useful as references and for those not exist on Kensear.

My Unique Personality - I Need your Understanding!

Unlike over 99% of others, I am a technology- and research-oriented person with very unique personality.

For Example:

  • Games and Entertainment (including Team Building and Ice-Breaking Games) are the WASTE of my Time!
  • I like being rigorous and explaining everything in detail like researchers. I don't like playing jokes.
  • I can focus on one thing (like a project) for a long time.
  • Researching my own topics can bring me achievement and happiness.
  • Rather than using templates, I start everything from scratch to figure out their technical working principles.

To better serve the “Rare 1%” audiences, Kensear rejects every comment opposing (or attempt to oppose) my unique personality (i.e., persuading me in the opposite way) and making me mentally uncomfortable.

Please also refrain from negatively commenting on my unique personality on other websites, blogs, channels, communities, forums, etc.

Kensear mainly targets the following audiences:

  • University students studying abroad🌎 (a.k.a., 留学生)
  • Mainland users (in companies) operating social accounts📸 on platforms (e.g., Facebook, TikTok) outside Mainland (a.k.a., 跨境電商)

Due to the nature of topics and to avoid disturbance, Kensear is only available outside Mainland.

Branding

Kensear = Ken + (Re)search

I am not just a student, programmer and developer. I am also a researcher!

As a technology- and research-oriented student, the name of this tech blog, Kensear, is closely related to "Tech" and/or "Research".

It can also be called as "Kensear Laboratory".

Due to my multiple hobbies and interests (apart from just Ken's Study Journey), opening sub-brands (like Kensear) gives me an opportunity to reach audiences with different interests.
